Christmas Mail

It had been a quiet and relaxing Christmas with just the three of us, which includes Cecil, our sweet cat. I had received some handmade cards and gifts from some very dear blogging friends and would like to share them with you today.

My dear close friend MARIE had surprised me with a lovely tag and one of her gorgeous Christmas stockings.

A very beautiful card came from my dear Scottish blogging friend LYNNE.

My dear friend SILKE and I had met in a quilt group over 10 years ago. This Christmas she had decided to send out cute mug rugs instead of cards.

This beautiful heart and the lovely card underneath came across the Baltic Sea from my sweet Danish friend DORTHE.

She had not only spoilt me but also Cecil. How sweet is that? Here you can see him checking out his package.

He loved the tuna and calamari dinner he got very much. The gifts I have received were uneatable but not less yummy. I’m pretty sure you will agree. This is one of Viola’s fantastic collages on a piece of bark.

The altered spoon is so gorgeous too.

I also love the vintage spools in their beautiful bag

Thank you very much again, my dear friends! Every single card and gift made me happy and I feel thankful for being part of this wonderful blogging community.

My Vintage Inspired Christmas

Even though I’m still not finished with my Christmas decoration, it’s quite Christmassy in our living room. Would you like to take a look?

shelf2

This vintage wooden thingy I had found at the flea market this year. It’s part of a meat grinder or something like that. I’ve just printed out one of my favorite Christmas graphics from THE GRAPHICS FAIRY and added a bit of seam binding and a small bauble.

A large pine cone in a painted peat pot. Fast and easy to make.

These lace and/or button trees I had sewn last year. They were pretty time-consuming but I think it was worth it.

These two lace trees were fun to make.

This package came from Carola over at Boxwood Cottage, when we had a swap last year. I had re-wrapped the box because it looked so very pretty and use it now for my Christmas decoration.

This is the second cake stand I had bought this year and painted white.

I have a collection of cast-iron Christmas tree stands. A couple of them I have painted white and use them as candle holders. This is one of my favorites.

Lisa’s tobacco tin ornament was just perfect to use as a decoration for this shutter.

Since the tree needs some more ornaments before I can show it, I’m off to the studio now …

I’m linking up today with The Graphics Fairy’s Brag Monday

Have a wonderful time until Christmas and don’t get stressed out too much by all the preparations.

French and White

It’s been last year that dear Alexandra over at Cottage Dreams and I had agreed to do a French-themed swap. Finally we both had the time and now I can show you my my creations for her.

The first thing I made for this swap was this tissue box cover.

Again, The Graphics Fairy had been my main source for the graphics I have used. Thank you very much again, Karen! You have such fantastic images! Only the one above came from someone else (I think).
I’ve embellished a preserving jar

Altered jar with lace and French label

as well as a box and filled both with laces and other goodies for Alexandra to create with.

Still being in a cushion sewing mood, I made this 16” x 16” one for her sofa.

This bookmark with a stamped Eiffel Tower was another gift for Alexandra

as well as this bag full of fabrics.

As you can see I had some fun wrapping everything up too.

Now I’m looking forward to Alexandra’s package and will show you her swap gifts next time.

My Christmas decoration is coming along but I’m not finished yet. I’m very happy that we have a white tree this year. I could find lights with white cords only on the internet and now I’m waiting for them. With a little luck they will arrive today and I can start decorating the tree this afternoon.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Julia
